Does my home need an electrical socket near the install?

Most water softeners require a nearby electrical supply to power the control system. During your free home survey, we’ll check the available power supply and confirm whether anything else is needed before installation.

Most installations are completed in a few hours. The exact time depends on your home, plumbing layout and where the softener is installed. We’ll explain what’s involved during your free home survey, so there are no surprises on installation day.

Often, yes — but it depends on the model, your plumbing layout and the available space. During your free home survey, we identify the best location for the softener and confirm exactly what will fit before you commit.

Potentially, yes. The right location depends on access, plumbing, drainage, power, temperature and the specific system. We’ll assess the location during your free home survey and recommend the most practical position.

That’s not necessarily a problem. Most softeners need a suitable drain connection for connection, and we’ll assess your options during the home survey. Where required, we can discuss the appropriate drainage solution as part of the installation.

We normally ask you to be home so we can confirm the final installation position with you before work begins and show you how the system works afterwards. We’ll confirm the arrangements when your installation is booked.
Yes. We leave the installation area clean and tidy and take away the packaging and installation waste generated by our work. If you’re replacing an existing softener, we’ll confirm any removal arrangements with you before installation.

Where notification is required, we’ll take care of it as part of the installation process. We’ll deal with the relevant local water company on your behalf, so you don’t have to worry about the paperwork.
Technically yes, but you’d void our warranty and IBG, and you’d be responsible for the Thames Water notification. We’d recommend a professional install regardless of who does it.Technically, yes — but a self-installation would not be covered by our installation warranty or IBG. You would also be responsible for ensuring any required water-company notification and regulatory requirements are dealt with correctly. We recommend professional installation so your system is correctly fitted, commissioned and fully covered from day one.
Is 0% finance really 0%?

Yes. With our 0% finance option, you pay no interest on the amount financed, provided you meet the terms of the finance agreement.

For example, a £1,695 installation could be financed at £47.08 per month over 36 months. Your exact monthly payment, term and eligibility will be confirmed during your finance application.

Not necessarily. Finance is subject to eligibility, status and the lending criteria of the finance provider. Not every application will be approved, and the finance provider may offer different options depending on your individual circumstances.

Applying for finance is quick and straightforward. When you choose the finance option, you’ll complete a secure online application with some personal and financial information.

The application usually takes just a few minutes. You’ll receive a decision online and, if approved, you’ll be asked to review and electronically sign your finance agreement before your installation is arranged.

There isn’t a specific credit score that guarantees approval.

Your application will be assessed by the finance provider using information from your application and relevant credit reference agencies. Approval depends on your individual circumstances and the provider’s lending criteria.

A finance application may involve a credit search, which could be recorded on your credit file.

The type of search and how it may affect your credit file will depend on the finance provider and the stage of your application. You’ll be told about any credit search before you submit your application.

Don’t worry — being declined for finance doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t purchase a Pure Aqua system.

You can still choose to pay for your installation outright. Depending on the finance provider and your circumstances, alternative finance options may also be available, although these are not guaranteed.

Your first monthly payment will normally be taken after your finance agreement has started and your installation has been completed or delivered, depending on the terms of your agreement.

Your exact first payment date and repayment schedule will be confirmed in your finance agreement.

Yes, you may be able to make overpayments or settle your finance early, subject to the terms of your finance agreement.

If you want to settle your finance before the end of the agreed term, contact your finance provider to request a settlement figure. They’ll confirm the amount required and explain the process.

Absolutely. If you prefer not to use finance, you can pay for your Pure Aqua system outright.

Our standard payment arrangement is 50% when you sign up and 50% on completion. If you would prefer to pay the full amount upfront, please speak to our team.

Yes, we accept credit and debit card payments, subject to the card types we support at the time of payment.

There is currently no additional card payment surcharge.

What's included with each delivery?

Each scheduled delivery includes your Purer Aqua salt delivered to your home, topping up your softener, removal of the empty packaging and a quick visual check of the system. It’s designed to keep your softener supplied without you having to buy, carry or store heavy bags of salt.

Yes. Purer Aqua uses high-purity Grade A PDV (Pure Dried Vacuum) salt, specifically manufactured for use in water softeners.

You choose the delivery frequency that suits your household: every 6, 8 or 12 weeks. You can change your frequency at any time through your customer portal.

Yes. There’s 30 days’ notice on our Standard, Light and Heavy plans, with no cancellation fee or minimum term. If you’re on Annual Prepay, we’ll refund the unused portion on a pro-rata basis.

What does the annual service include?
Our annual service includes a full system check, resin assessment, valve and settings check, water-pressure check and optimisation where needed. We’ll also provide a written service report. A typical service takes around 30–45 minutes and costs £95.

No. The annual service is completely optional. Your water softener is designed to operate without mandatory annual servicing, but a regular check can help make sure everything continues to operate correctly and efficiently.

Your first annual service is normally due around 12 months after installation. If you choose the annual service, we’ll contact you when it’s approaching so you don’t have to remember.

Yes. You don’t need to decide at installation. You can add annual servicing later if you decide you’d like Purer Aqua to carry out a regular system check.

They’re separate services. Your salt subscription keeps your softener supplied with salt and includes regular delivery, top-up and a quick visual system check. The annual service is a more detailed inspection of the softener, including its resin, valve operation, settings and water pressure. You can choose either service independently.

If you notice a problem with your softener, you don’t need to wait for your annual service. Contact us and we’ll help identify the issue and arrange the appropriate support if needed. If the issue is covered by your guarantee, we’ll deal with it in accordance with the terms of your guarantee.

No. Our optional annual service is separate from your guarantee. You don’t have to take annual servicing simply to keep your Purer Aqua guarantee in place, subject to the terms and conditions of the guarantee.

What does the 10-year guarantee cover?
Our 10-year guarantee is designed to give you long-term peace of mind after installation. It covers the Purer Aqua system and our installation workmanship in accordance with the terms of the guarantee. For full details of what is covered, including any exclusions, see our Guarantee page.

Yes. Our 10-year guarantee covers both the water softener and our installation workmanship, subject to the terms and exclusions of the guarantee. That means you have one clear point of responsibility with Purer Aqua if something goes wrong.

A standard warranty is paid by the installer if there’s a claim. An insurance-backed guarantee is underwritten by a regulated insurer (Retramax), so the cover continues even if Pure Aqua exits the market.

That’s where the insurance-backed element provides additional reassurance. For eligible work, it is designed to provide protection if Purer Aqua is no longer able to honour its installation guarantee, subject to the insurance policy’s terms, conditions and exclusions.

No. Our optional annual service is separate from your guarantee. You don’t need to purchase annual servicing simply to keep your Purer Aqua guarantee in place, subject to the terms and conditions of the guarantee.

Yes, subject to the terms of the guarantee. If you sell your home, the remaining guarantee can transfer to the new homeowner. Contact us when you’re moving and we’ll explain what needs to be done.

Like any guarantee, there are some exclusions. These are set out clearly in our Guarantee terms so you know exactly where you stand before you buy.

Contact Purer Aqua first. We’ll discuss the issue with you, establish whether it’s covered and explain the next steps. If a visit is required, we’ll arrange it with you.
