1. The home survey (45 minutes)

The survey is completely free and takes around 45 minutes. Once you book online or by phone, we’ll send confirmation by SMS and email. At the agreed time, a Purer Aqua surveyor will visit your home, test your water, assess the installation and talk you through the options that are suitable for your home. There’s no obligation and no decision to make on the day.

We test your water on the spot

A hardness test on your kitchen tap takes around 90 seconds. You'll see your water-hardness reading and what it means for your home.

We estimate what hard water could be costing you

Based on your water hardness, household size, boiler and appliances, we'll show you an illustrative estimate of the potential annual costs associated with hard water in your home.

We walk you through the installation

Where the softener fits, how the drain runs, what we change and what stays the same. No surprises on installation day.

You get a fixed-price quote

Your written quote is emailed to you on the day or after the survey. No moving target. No obligation. Take your time and decide when you're ready.

Free survey. Written quote. No obligation. No pressure.

2. Booking the installation

Once you decide, we book your installation at a time that suits you — typically within 7–14 days, subject to availability. Where required, we handle the relevant water-regulations notification with your water company on your behalf, so there’s nothing extra for you to arrange.

3. Installation day (2–3 HOURS)

On the agreed day, your installer arrives within your booked time slot. Most standard installations take around 2–3 hours. We dust-sheet the work area, isolate the supply, run the drain, fit the bypass valve and inlet/outlet hoses, pressure-test the installation, fill the softener with your first 25kg of salt, and commission the system.

We normally leave the cold kitchen drinking-water tap on the original mains supply, so you can continue to use unsoftened mains water for drinking and cooking. Once commissioned, you’ll have softened water throughout the rest of your home.

1.

Isolation

We isolate the mains cold supply at the stopcock, drain the run, and prepare for the cut-in.

2.

Fitting

The softener positions under the sink with a bypass valve, inlet and outlet hoses, and a drain connection. Most standard installations take around 2–3 hours.

3.

Commissioning

We pressure-test the installation, add your first 25kg of Purer Aqua salt, test the softened-water flow and walk you through the controls.

What you’ll have after installation: softened water throughout your home, except the cold kitchen drinking-water tap, which remains on the original mains supply.

4. The salt subscription

Your softener uses salt to regenerate its resin. We deliver Purer Aqua salt every 8 weeks, so you don’t have to remember when you’re running low. Your first three scheduled salt deliveries after installation are included in the installation price.

5. Ongoing service

An optional annual service at £95/year includes a full system check, resin test, settings optimisation and any minor adjustments.

Annual servicing is recommended to keep your system performing at its best and identify any issues early.
